This was booked for a 50th Birthday party for my godmother. On entry the staff were friendly and the restaurant had a welcoming friendly feel to it. The order was taken within the right amount of time of sitting down and even though some of us hadn't decided we weren't pushed into ordering quickly and he waited until final decisions were made while talking and laughing. The food arrived and one order had been made with the incorrect chips (the home cooked are the choice) this was swiftly replaced and we all were able to eat together. The desserts were ordered and arrived swiftly (Highly recommend leaving room for dessert!). I would recommend this restaurant if you want a laid back cozy atmosphere with caring and friendly staff.
Stopped in this town on our canal boat trip. We struggled to find a decent place to eat that wasn't too expensive. We found this place, it looked lovely inside & the menu looked good. The wine we had was really nice @ £15 a bottle. The food was absolutely beautiful. I had chicken & bacon lasagna, it was delicious. My daughter had meatballs with linguini, again beautiful. My hubby had the homemade burger & said it was the nicest burger he'd eaten. Our meals came with salad & chips & priced at £10.95 each. It was worth every penny for such tasty homemade food.
The music on Sundays is a pleasure to listen to, last week was The Cocktail Hour Band and it was very entertaining. great beer, great food and great staff.
